A dramatic evening unfolds near Lake Puyehue as storm clouds gather beneath the final light of day. Captured by Daniel Canales in February 2020, this photographic sequence preserves a fleeting moment when weather, light, and landscape briefly converged before nightfall.
The three images belong to the same sunset and document the progression of a single atmospheric event. A storm approached across the horizon, building in front of those watching from the shore. Although the rain never arrived, the encounter between the advancing clouds and the setting sun transformed the landscape into layers of gold, amber, shadow, and silhouette. For a few minutes, the sky became the entire scene.
Rather than focusing on a specific landmark, the photographs explore anticipation and atmosphere. The silhouettes of trees, the shifting forms of the clouds, and the changing light reveal a landscape suspended between calm and tension. Together, the sequence becomes a study of a moment that existed only briefly before fading into the evening.
