A solitary mountaineer moves across the ridgeline, suspended between the city below and the vast Andes beyond.

This route is one of the most iconic mountaineering journeys for Santiago locals. Typically completed over two nights, the traverse follows a high crest linking Cerro Provincia and Cerro San Ramón, offering an extraordinary perspective of central Chile. On one side, the entire Santiago Valley unfolds toward the horizon. On the other, the immense wall of the Andes rises in successive layers of peaks and ridges.

The photograph distills that experience into its most essential elements: rock, sky, and human presence. The lone figure becomes a measure of scale against the openness of the landscape, emphasizing both the exposure of the route and the immensity of the surrounding mountains. Presented in black and white, the image focuses on texture, contrast, and atmosphere, creating a timeless interpretation of movement through high terrain.
